Kamil Fuseini (PhD)

Biography
Dr. Kamil Fuseini is a Demographer and Population Scientist with over 15 years of experience at the intersection of research, policy, and program innovation. As Managing Director of tfho-RESEARCH, Ghana, he provides strategic leadership for multidisciplinary initiatives that generate actionable evidence to strengthen systems and improve development outcomes across public health, education, gender equality, youth development, social protection, and governance.
Dr Fuseini has led multi-country studies, secured funding from leading donors (including USAID, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, WHO, UNFPA, and Global Affairs Canada) and driven national advocacy efforts such as the operationalization of the inclusion of family planning into Ghana’s National Health Insurance Scheme and the introduction and scale up self-injectable contraception (DMPA-SC). He holds a PhD in Population Studies from North-West University (South Africa), an MPhil and MA in Population Studies, and a BA in Geography and Resource Development with Sociology from the University of Ghana. A former Visiting Scholar at The Pennsylvania State University’s Population Research Institute, Dr. Fuseini has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and actively mentors students, supporting capacity building in universities and professional networks. His work reflects a deep commitment to data-driven solutions that inform policy and transform lives.
