Rollout of self-administered subcutaneous Depo-Medroxyprogesterone Acetate (DMPA-SC) through Ghana’s health system

tfho—RESEARCH, in partnership with Metricals Consulting, and in collaboration with the Ghana Health Service (GHS), World Health Organization (WHO), UNFPA, and other partners is leading Phase II of an implementation research initiative to strengthen the rollout of self-administered subcutaneous Depo-Medroxyprogesterone Acetate (DMPA-SC) through Ghana’s health system. Following Phase I, GHS and partners implemented key interventions in response to Phase I recommendations. Hence, Phase II seeks to assess the outcomes of these measures and identify remaining gaps to optimize scale-up of self-administered DMPA SC. The study is employing a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative research and document review, with components implemented in all the 261 districts and other components in eight selected case study regions.
