USAID MOMENTUM Private Healthcare Delivery (MPHD)

Under the USAID MOMENTUM Private Healthcare Delivery (MPHD) project led by Population Services International (PSI), tfho—RESEARCH conducted a qualitative assessment between April and August 2023 to evaluate the effectiveness of a blended training approach in strengthening health workers’ capacity to deliver Long-Acting Reversible Contraceptive (LARC) services. The study examined changes in provider knowledge before and after training, explored stakeholder perspectives, and identified key facilitators and barriers to training and mentorship. Using 66 in-depth interviews with trainees, facilitators, and mentors, and adhering to ethical standards for human subject protection, the findings provide actionable insights to enhance blended approach training models and sustain LARC service delivery across Ghana’s private and public health sectors.
